Take a tour of the Shop Floor Plan
Interesting Characteristics
I have arranged the machines and workstations in my shop to suite my work habits. The organization of the machines, storage and work areas I designed long before ground was broken on the building. Of course things did change once they went from paper to reality, but these we only minor changes from my original plan. As I've mentioned often in this shop expose' , nearly all machinery is mobile, in fact my workbench is the only thing not on casters. I like the idea of being able to move things around whether it's just a temporary thing (setup my spray booth) or a wholesale change, I'm ready for it. I just unlatch the locks and wheel away!
Commentary
In putting together this overview of my shop for my website, I took hundreds of photographs and wrote a number of stories - about each specific work area or machine. It made me realize just how much time, effort and money I've poured into the shop and all the workstations. Of course I've been at it for many years, a labor of love but nonetheless the magnitude of it is staggering. There's not a single machine that I've not touched in some way to fine tune to enhance or otherwise improve its usefulness to me. I hope you find this detailed walk-thru of my shop helpful at least in some small way. You can email me from the Contact page with any questions or comments.
