Take a tour of my Dust Collection

Interesting Characteristics
I have multiple types of dust control in my shop. I have a basis dust collector, shop vacuum and air filtration. On my Miter Saw station, I have a dedicated shop vacuum. That saw is a big-time dust blower, so I added a dedicated system. Check out the photographs for details. My dust collector is a Jet 2-stage system. It's the type that mounts on a barrel. I like this type of system because when the barrel is full, I can simply take off the collector, pop on the lid and drive to my town's stump dump, where I can dump the shavings in their compile pile. I've also added custom dust ports to my table saws and bandsaw, check out the photographs for details.

Commentary
One of the best, yet simplest upgrades I did was to add better casters to my shop vac. The factory castors on most shop vac wear out very quickly. Dragging your shop vac around the shop is an endless aggravation, so it wasn't long before I added a simple wooden base and high-quality casters (see photos). Now as I'm pulling it around by the hose, it rolls along with ease. Sometimes the simplest things make the biggest difference.
